🖐️ How to Get Every New GrabPack Hand in Chapter 5

Chapter 5 introduces two game-changing GrabPack upgrades. Here is exactly where to find them, how to unlock them, and what they do.

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: This guide contains puzzle solutions and progression spoilers for Chapter 5.

Losing Your GrabPack

Before you can get new hands, you must first lose your old ones. In the opening chase sequence, Huggy Wuggy rips the GrabPack directly from the player's hands. This leaves you completely defenseless for the first portion of the chapter — no grabbing, no swinging, no interacting with GrabPack doors. You must survive using only movement, the Star Flashlight, and environmental objects until Chum helps you acquire the GrabPack 2.0 frame.

The GrabPack 2.0 accepts interchangeable hand modules, which is why Chapter 5's hands are found as separate pickups rather than built-in upgrades.

Hand #1: The Pressurized Hand (Orange)

The Pressurized Hand is the first new tool you acquire. It is located in the Boiler Room section of the Playtime Labs, stored inside a coded locker.

How to find it: After Chum gives you the empty GrabPack 2.0 frame, you enter the Boiler Room. The locker containing the hand is visible immediately — it is a large orange-lit cabinet on the far wall. However, it requires a numeric code to open.

Finding the code: The code is scattered across the Boiler Room environment. Look for numbers etched into the steam pipes, scratched onto wall panels, and printed on maintenance tags. The numbers correspond to a specific 4-digit sequence. Pay attention to the order indicated by small arrow markings near each number.

What it does: The Pressurized Hand builds up air pressure when you hold the trigger, then releases a powerful burst. This allows you to: Push heavy objects across rooms. Break brittle surfaces like cracked walls and weakened floors. Activate pressure-sensitive plates from a distance. Create temporary pathways by blasting debris.

Pro Tips for the Pressurized Hand

The pressure burst has a short cooldown — approximately 2 seconds between full-power shots. You can use partial charges for weaker bursts with no cooldown, useful for nudging objects. The hand makes a distinct hissing sound when fully charged — release at peak hiss for maximum force. In combat encounters, the pressure burst can stagger smaller enemies briefly, giving you time to run.

Hand #2: The Conductive Hand (Yellow)

The Conductive Hand is the second upgrade, found in the Testing & Conditioning area. It requires solving a battery puzzle rather than entering a code.

How to find it: In the Testing & Conditioning section, you will encounter a large charging station with an empty hand slot. The Conductive Hand is already in the slot but has no power. You need to find a large industrial battery and drag it into the adjacent charger to power up the hand.

The battery puzzle: The battery is located in a side room behind a locked gate. Use the Pressurized Hand to break the brittle wall next to the gate (this is the first puzzle requiring your new hand). Inside, drag the heavy battery along the floor — it is too heavy to carry — and slot it into the charger. Wait for the charging animation to complete, then pick up the now-powered Conductive Hand.

What it does: The Conductive Hand generates and transfers electrical current. This allows you to: Power electrical receivers and circuit panels. Freeze Poppy Gel into a solid state that can be shattered with the Pressurized Hand. Create electrical bridges between disconnected wires. Temporarily stun gel-based enemies on contact.

Pro Tips for the Conductive Hand

The electrical charge drains while active — you have roughly 8 seconds of continuous use before it needs to recharge (about 4 seconds). Combine both hands for advanced puzzles: use the Conductive Hand to freeze gel, then the Pressurized Hand to shatter it. The hand glows brighter as charge depletes — when it starts flickering, release to recharge. Frozen gel stays solid for approximately 5 seconds before thawing, so plan your Pressurized Hand follow-up quickly.

Hand Combination Puzzles

The best puzzles in Chapter 5 require using both hands in sequence. Key combination scenarios include: Freeze a gel wall with the Conductive Hand, then blast through it with the Pressurized Hand. Power a circuit to open a door, then quickly switch to the Pressurized Hand to push an object through before the door closes. Create an electrical bridge to redirect power, then pressure-blast a platform into position.

The game does not explicitly tell you when to switch hands. If you are stuck on a puzzle, try approaching it with the other hand — the solution often requires both.
